If we ever sit down over a cup of coffee, the first thing I’ll probably tell you is this: I wasn’t born with a strong passport in hand. I wasn’t that kid who was traveling every summer or flying across countries with family. I grew up in a middle-class home where savings mattered more than sunsets in Santorini. But even then, I always had that itch to go somewhere, anywhere.
My first real taste of travel freedom came when I was just 17. I worked as a food delivery associate and saved up about ₹20,000 ($230) before setting out alone to explore Uttarakhand. I trekked the first leg of Hemkund Sahib, wandered around Govindghat, and soaked in the calm of Rishikesh. After that, I headed to Delhi, ticking off places from Chandni Chowk to Hauz Khas. Let’s be real, Bollywood had me dreaming of those streets for years. Ranbir Kapoor movies played a big role in that trip, and I even visited spots where his films were shot.
Since then, I’ve been slowly covering every corner of India: Rajasthan, Himachal, Sikkim, Darjeeling, Pondicherry, Kerala, Chennai. You name it. My first international trip was to Dubai. And yeah, we kind of cheaped out on a few activities. Still, I came back hungry for more. That trip made one thing clear. Travel was no longer a once-a-year idea. It was going to be a way of life. I worked hard, saved harder, and now, as I write this, I’ve covered seven countries with more lined up for the future.
“Wiedza” means knowledge. That’s what this blog is about. Real, practical, no-BS travel knowledge that helps you take that first step without the endless research and stress.
Travel Wiedza is a space I wish I had when I was starting out. Back when I was Googling “cheapest countries for Indians,” struggling with weak passport blues, and figuring out how to survive airport layovers without spending on overpriced food.
I built this site to keep things real. I don’t do sugar-coated, luxury-sponsored travel. I talk about night buses, flaky visa officers, last-minute hostel bookings, and all the madness in between. If there’s a smart hack, I’ll share it. If I mess up (which I do), I’ll share that too.
Travel Wiedza is about making travel doable. Especially if you’re someone who’s been told it’s “not practical” or “too expensive.” I’m living proof that you can start with a salary of ₹7,000 a month and slowly work your way up to cover international trips.
Let’s not pretend money doesn’t matter. It absolutely does.
I’ve never had unlimited funds or a family backup. What I do have is patience and the willingness to wait, save, and hustle. I plan one big trip after saving consistently for six to eight months. I usually stick to Asian or African countries where Indian currency stretches further. I avoid destinations where a single day can blow up my entire monthly income.
I track flight sales. I book hostels or Airbnbs with kitchens so I can cook if I’m traveling for more than 30 days. I’ll walk 10,000 steps instead of paying for a cab. But I never compromise on what matters: food, experiences, and those random little moments that make stories for years.
If you’re trying to do the same, trust me, you can. You just need the right plan, a bit of sacrifice, and solid info. That’s what I’m here to help with.
Hands down my favourite. If heaven had a metro system, convenience stores, and vending machines that actually work, it would be Japan. Tokyo is fast-paced and futuristic. Kyoto is slow and calm. Osaka is just pure vibes. People are kind, everything is clean, and even their food from 7-Eleven tastes better than some restaurants. Also, their fashion is on another level. I’d happily spend the rest of my life just wandering around Japan.
I went at the right time, before every third Indian ruined it by being loud or disrespectful. Bangkok has NYC vibes but is way more budget-friendly. Pattaya is wild. Phuket is chill. The locals are super welcoming. I love that you can go from rooftop bars to beach shacks in the same day.
I’m gonna keep travelling to new countries in the future. Let’s just say I have a feeling one of them is going to become a new favourite.
Explore 100+ countries before I die.
Visit the Faroe Islands (because I have a thing for remote, cinematic landscapes).
Drive a convertible Chevy 64 on Route 66. Stop at LA, Vegas, San Francisco, and every random diner in between.
Make Travel Wiedza a go-to resource for travelers who want to explore without overthinking.
Like you’ve got a friend who’s done it before and can guide you. That’s all.
No fancy jargon. No 25 tabs open while planning. Just one solid article that makes you go, “Okay, I can do this.” Whether you’re saving for your first solo trip or confused about visa rules, I want to help you figure it out.
Travel should feel easy. And it should never wait. You don’t need to be rich, famous, or lucky. You just need that one push. If Travel Wiedza can be that push for you, I’ve done my job.
Want to ask something? Just message me. I reply like a human.
(Unless I’m stuck in a jungle with no signal. Then maybe give it a day.)
Traveler. Storyteller. Movie Buff. Been exploring the world since I was 17 — and I’m not stopping till I’ve seen it all. Funded by words, fueled by dreams.
